I have found a new way of enjoying myself while shopping. I preemptively strike retail workers by answering the questions before they ask them. It may not sound like a lot of fun, but you try it once, you'll be hooked.

Customer #1 (you*) makes eye contact with the employee, "Fine thanks." You keep walking, keenly aware of the worker's glances. Next time they cock their head, or open their mouth, or approach you, "no, just looking."

It truly has opened doors for me I thought never existed.
