Tepid Sense of an Intrepid Destiny

I consider myself somewhat politically savvy. I understand the show West Wing, I know the difference between a Conservative Republican and a Liberal Democrat. I also understand when a President uses fear and 'fuzzy' logic to sway the weak-minded yokels who already support him.

I read an article today about Fallujah.
I read an article today about spin.
I read an article today.

The picture that was coupled with this "placed" release was a striking photo of crazed Iraqis celebrating the lynching of the charred bodies of two security guards. President Bush said, "America will never be intimidated by thugs and assassins … We are aggressively striking the terrorists in Iraq. We will defeat them so we do not have to face them in our own country." I hope I am not the only one that finds irony in this quote. The definition of terrorist is ‘one who governs by terrorism or intimidation.’ The reason I find this ironic is because we are in their country governing by terror, fear, war and power. We are in their country installing our form of government, our lists of morals, rules and repression. We are the terrorists in their country, and they won’t be intimidated by it.

Also, today the Bush camp came out with allegations of ‘soft money’ violations from the Kerry campaign… this coming from a group that has stashed over $180 million dollars and used over $20 million already in ads trying to “define Kerry before he can.”

I know there are a lot of stupid people in this country, I just hope there is an electoral college is as educated as the majority.
