To Thomas, in response to your comment

You make some good points Thomas, but your eagerness to try and "zing" me is a little too overzealous. I realize that the majority of the points I made that were detailed were on Jared's site and not mine. So:

The truths in the movie that I am glad that Moore elucidated were: the connections between the people involved in the 2000 election, and although it seems like sour grapes, the majority of Americans don't know that FOX News more or less called the election, Bush's cousin made that call, the person in charge of the recount was involved in the Bush campaign, etc.; the connections between Unocal, Enron, Bush, Cheney, Halliburton, Rumsfeld, Karzai, et al; how the whole administration had unequivocally stated that Saddam had no WMDs and no possibility of acquiring them; the astounding financial interest of Saudi Arabia in the United States; the financial relationships between HW Bush, Baker, and the Bin Ladens in the Carlyle Group, etc.

You ask why I only mentioned the critics who haven't seen it (or the whole thing); for every film, non-fiction, action, drama, documentary, etc. people will disagree, they always have and that's the nature of art. Whether this movie is an actual documentary is up for debate. As my wife has said, documentaries, like every other genre, aren't all the same. If this movie is a doc, or non-fiction expose, or as some would argue fiction, it is what it is. I would like to call Moore's style Guerilla Documentary, but this movie is not like Bowling for Columbine, not in the slightest.

I do not think this movie is incredibly coherent. I think the point Moore wants to make is only evident by compiling what you know about him, what he's said, and combine it with the point of this movie. I think this film could have been more scathing, more brutal and more even, but I didn't make it.

I do not love Michael Moore; I think he is often very self-serving and often controversial for the sake of being so. That being said, I support the movie emphatically. I am glad the movie is out and doing well; people need to find out the things that weren't widely reported. I did not love it, nor did I hate it. I urge everyone to see it though before they call it propaganda (which it is certainly not).
