Blizzard Cola; Latent Rebuttals; work

This morning I got an email rebuking me for being late to work... I came in at 08:13. Apparently it's it doesn't matter if you spent the last 30 hours straight moving into a new apartment and couldn't find the charger to your phone because of the Mt. St. Helens of boxes, so you couldn't call. Whatever. I have a life (is this too personal? My boss reads this ... am I bad?)

So I was annoyed until I read that Robert Novak fell in his shower and broke his hip. God really does have a sense of justice and humor and it makes petty work stuff superfluous.

I'll have some photos of the place soon, once it looks like a place, not a self-storage garage. The place is huge though and it worked out albeit there were many detours and changes of plans.

The debate was Thursday night. You didn't know?

Remember when you played little league and there was that kid on the team who no matter how many times the coach said: "Stay in front of the ball," or "keep your eye on the ball," or "keep your elbow up," or "don't fuck up again" there was that one kid who seemed like he never heard any of it?

Well President Bush was coached for the debate incessantly yet he couldn't get out a lucid and complete sentence and constantly seemed like he didn't know what he was talking about. Shocker. He also used his little "hard work" and "better place" phrases. Bush looked stupid. He projected incompetence and ignorance with his words and his body language. He lost the debate on what was supposed to be his strong suit. Now he's campaigning and purveying more skewed positions of John Kerry.

I don't love what Kerry said about North Korea. But both candidates are flimsy on this topic. Kerry wants bilateral talks with North Korea, but he doesn't like bilaterism for Iraq. Bush wants multilateral talks with North Korea, but not Iran or Iraq.

Everybody saw the debate or heard about the outcome so I don't feel the need to recap the entire thing... Kerry won huge. He looked smarter, more Presidential, more in control, stronger and very likeable. Bush looked like a man of average intelligence (at best), of small stature, a spoiled and sheltered rich kid who doesn't bode well or take kindly to disagreement, confrontation or insults.

Bush keeps insisting on Kerry's contradictions... well maybe they seem like contradictions to Bush, but his positions truly have been consistent, on Iraq at least.

The big story that should blow up is this whole Allawi/Bush speech towing the line thing. Bush was talking about how he believes that things are going well in Iraq about elections and general progress because Allawi told him they were.. Yet, the Bush people practically wrote the speech for him so and coached him. So. This should make the Iraqi people pretty comfortable with who their leader is.

I've gotta go. sorry, I think this was going somewhere:
