Tepid Sense of an Intrepid Destiny

So. For about two hours on Thursday I lost my bank card. A similar thing had happened to me before when... I lost my bank card. The ironic thing here is that I lost it while wearing the same pants... with pockets. So. Long story short... the card turned out to be in my car which I drove to a different bus stop in the morning. The card had fallen out of my pocket and in that spot right next to the door and bottom of my seat. Needless to say, the card was already cancelled and I have to wait 5-7 business days for a new one.

For the last three days I have been looking for a new apartment for many reasons -- all of which are none of your fucking business you snoops. Regardless, I have seen some gems, some dumps and one brilliant fucking place that I have been having wet dreams about for 12 hours. Wednesday I was driving around for over 3 hours going up and down every street in a twelve mile radius. I came across many signs, called, got answers and no answers, yadda yadda yadda.

I saw one place on Thursday that was quite narrow, a recent gut renovation, that was a decent deal. But on the way out, the weird landlord (or realtor) tried handing me some small God booklet. I looked at her, smiled, and said "I'm a heathen, sinner and Jewish. God can't save me, lady." And as I left the apartment, I turned around to get a good look at the front of the building, and as I looked, I saw the woman's daughter or lesbian partner/slave through the window staring at me. This girl was either 15 or 35 and she was staring at me through the front windows like I stole something or was walking into the depths of hell at that very time. So. I flipped her the middle finger, unfurled my wings and flew away like a bat out of hell.

Now. Away from the personal -- this week has been quite ironic in politico-bizarro world. I have heard so many ironic things that I'm beginning to slightly resemble Alanis Morissette.
Robert Novak, famous for being the epitamy of slime and the devil reincarnate, has called on CBS to reveal the source of the newly uncovered Bush National Guard documents. Many Fox News pundits like Hannity are also calling for the sources to be revealed, yet, when it comes to Novak revealing the source on the outing of Valerie Plane, apparently that's a different story.

Wilson never worked for the CIA, but his wife, Valerie Plame, is an Agency operative on weapons of mass destruction. Two senior administration officials told me Wilson's wife suggested sending him to Niger to investigate the Italian report.

These two sentences threatened the life of Ms. Plame and did more to undermine the whole philosophy of clandestine operations than the Iran-Contra Scandal. Will Novak reveal his two Senior Administration sources (Karl Rove is suspected to be one)? Certainly not! After all... that's unethical. Meanwhile, writers from the Times and Newsweek were being issued subpoenas. Judith Miller, James Risen and Jeff Gerth as well as NBCs Tim Russert were all fingered in the case.

This is not only a possible breach of national security; it is a potential
violation of law. Under the Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982, it
is a crime for anyone who has access to classified information to disclose
intentionally information identifying a covert agent. The punishment for such an
offense is a fine of up to $50,000 and/or up to ten years in prison. Journalists
are protected from prosecution, unless they engage in a "pattern of activities"
to name agents in order to impair US intelligence activities. So Novak need not
worry.
Novak tells me that he was indeed tipped off by government officials
about Wilson's wife and had no reluctance about naming her. "I figured if they
gave it to me," he says. "They'd give it to others....I'm a reporter. Somebody
gives me information and it's accurate. I generally use it." And Wilson says
Novak told him that his sources were administration officials.

Another ironic thing is how the media is handling the Bush National Guard documents. The talking point attacks are bringing into question the authenticity of the documents. While CBS maintains the authenticity, FOX News pundits are disregarding them as fraudulent and deriding them as political payback for the Bush funded and coordinated Swift Boat ads.

This is from FOX News' site for Hannity and Colmes:

Did CBS make a mistake? Is the focus on the National Guard story really Swift
Boat guilt? Media Research President Brent Bozell and The Nation's Bruce Shapiro
speak out.
Should Democrats be apologizing after attacking President Bush
based on dubious information?
and on O'Reilly's site, the first thing up is "CBS Duped by Fake Documents."

Should Democrats apologize for attacking on dubious information? Are you fucking serious?

Regardless, some people are speculating that the neocons and Karl Rove revealed these documents to CBS to make Kerry look like he's digging for anything to help him out in the polls.

Last week I saw another Swift Boat ad where they were using what Kerry said in the speech against the war in Vietnam, after he'd come back home. He spoke about the atrocities committed by many U.S. Soldiers. The put this ad forward like news of atrocities in Vietnam is breaking and that anyone who spoke out against the war was unpatriotic and doing the enemies work for them. John Kerry was a whistleblower in the early Seventies and to some extent still is. Republicans hate whistleblowers. (Here are more things Republicans hate)

So, in summation, Bush and his criminal pals are evil bastards that should be brought up on war crimes charges as well as charges for disobeying orders while Bush was in the Guard (or not in the Guard, as it were). I hope and hope that he gets sent out of Washington back to his fake ranch (which he will sell immediately after he realizes that he has nothing left to benefit from by being there) .
