I had only heard the rumors in brief, but here is an article that exposes that "new Watergate."
Here is an article by John Dean regarding Mr. Bush and the rest of the administrations false claims and reasons to go to war.
Besides many quotes by Bush, which all of us are very familiar, there are some from Rumsfeld and Fleischer, like:
Third, I pointed out to the students, these statements are typically corrected rapidly if they are later found to be false. And in this case, far from backpedaling
from the President's more extreme claims, Bush's press secretary, Ari Fleischer had actually, at times, been even more emphatic than the President had. For
example, on January 9, 2003, Fleischer stated, during his press briefing, "We know for a fact that there are weapons there."
In addition, others in the Administration were similarly quick to back the President up, in some cases with even more unequivocal statements. Secretary of
Defense Donald Rumsfeld repeatedly claimed that Saddam had WMDs - and even went so far as to claim he knew "where they are; they're in the area around
Tikrit and Baghdad."
Also, to avoid any fervent attempt to indict the administration for still not finding WMDs, they can say that, due to the 'robust insurgency,' they have scaled back the search for WMDs and reassigned staff to intelligence gathering . This is, however, before the term 'robust insurgency' was coined...
Here are one and two more articles by Dean which explain further his feelings regarding the Bush administration, possible impeachment, scandal, and all that good stuff.
The former article portends that the Bush administration is the most secretive and dangerous administration in the history of 'our' country! This President has been called the most awful things by some of the most well-respected journalists like Helen Thomas (who George Bush kicked out of the White House press corps).
