Tepid Sense of an Intrepid Destiny

Tuesday, May 18, 2004

Earlier today some reports came out implying that there was a bomb that exploded near a US Convoy contain Sarin nerve gas, a lethal chemical agent. Some reports said that it was possible that the bomb was found in abandoned stockpiles and it was not known that the bomb contained this gas. One of the reports also said that the bomb's mixing device that was supposed to combine different elements of the chemicals or parts of the bomb malfunctioned and never mixed correctly.

Regardless, just like one fateful night in November 2000, Fox News is the first to confirm something! This is very likely such a random occurence that it cannot have any bearing on our reason to going to war with Iraq. We've found more anthrax in the United States (with no convictions) than they have found of anything in Iraq. This is a complete anomaly.

However, an AP story from Washington has the Defense Secretary Donald "Countin' the Minutes" Rumsfeld trying to soften the reports.
