Tepid Sense of an Intrepid Destiny

Pirates of the Atlantic, sans Depp (or how I learned to stop thinking and admire that brazen hubris)

Peculiar time for me to lay off blogging right? Totally.

Recently I have been thinking about comparisons and analogies for this administration. First I was thinking about the incompetent blame dodging and projection of flaws, character and deed. Their childishness is reminiscent of the "No I'm not, you are" line of defense; every third graders fail-safe.

Today, regarding the missing explosives, I was contemplating the administration's defense that John Kerry is just grabbing at headlines, signifying the desperation of his campaign. It's not grabbing at headlines when they've been bad for months/years.

They said similar things about 'rolling Bill Clinton off his hospital bed;' Kerry is trying to solidify and mollify his base whereas Bush, trotting out Giuliani, George HW, Ahnold and Curt Shill(ing) was reaching out to independents. That truly doesn't make sense at all. Projection.

But the real analogy came when I started thinking about American History and politics, economics. Around the time of the Great Depression there were the few who got filthy rich on the demise of the working class. There were the few who got so stinking wealthy that none of their kids had to work a day in their life... that is, until they had to run for President.

But these people were pillagers; they were opportunists; they were cronies; they were Pirates. After all, halloween is coming right? This administration has been preparing for this holiday for four years dressing up as compassionate conservatives, intellectuals, war geniuses, homophobes, Puritans, cocksuckers. This administration has not fucked things up so bad they can't fix it; this administration has not performed well under the circumstances but are turning the corner towards a bright future; they have not fought mightily against Terror. This administration has inflated the value and net worth of their own portfolios, their friend's companies, their friend's countries, their parents legacies that the only place the market and worth of the proletariat is straight down. But until when?

Until the real war begins.

The United States emerged from the Great Depression because of the Great War. They emerged because factories that were underproducing had to start overproducing. Factories that couldn't afford to pay its workers could find enough. Women, children, immigrants, even blacks were afforded good jobs. They didn't pay well... Fuck you, we're at war!

Has this administration purposely led the economy down the tubes in order to revive it out of necessity? necessity for war? necessity for 'the march of freedom?' No. Probably not. This administration has led the economy down the slow road the China because they can't understand solid trade policy internationally; they can't understand prudent tax codes and policy domestically. When in the history of the world has a country implemented tax cuts at a time of war? Adam Smith is rolling over in his grave on a spit being warmed by burning cash.

The reason no country has ever implemented tax cuts in a time of war has to be due to one of two things: 1) because it could never work or 2) that country was not really at war.

We are being pillaged from above by people with no conscience, no remorse, no accountability, and soon no homeland. They will be booed out of office, tarred and feathered, and will leave legacies so moribund and insulting that the pages of history books will feel shame, much like they do when discussing Hitler and Bill Buckner. This administration will be forced to sail the high seas with Skull and Bone flags, tattered and ominous in the insulting wind. Their buried treasure will never be redeemed because the bright-minded realists swapped the trunks and put in buffalo chips.

I got my hands on the Hunter S. Thompson article for Rolling Stone, "Fear and Loathing, Campaign 2004." In it he ass-fucks the administration verbally for their utter ineptitude and brazen hubris.

Thompson ripped Bush's performance in the debates, saying "he talked like a donkey with no brains at all... I almost felt sorry for him, until I heard someone call him 'Mister President,' and then I felt ashamed."

There were some lines in this article that made me want to copy and collate this masterpiece and carpetbomb red states by covert InfoOps .. (CoOps, i guess)

"The White House has never been seized by timid warriors. There are no rules, and the roadside is littered with wreckage. That is why they call it the passing lane."

Hunter says that George Bush is President because he wanted it more than Gore. That's true. Many of his friends wanted it more than Gore as well, and those pigs are sure in shit right now, grinning and in line at the CoinStar.

"Every GOP administration since 1952 has let the Military-Industrial Complex loot the Treasury and plunge the nation into debt on the excuse of a wartime economic emergency."

Think about this for a second. Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush and Bush all conveniently had wars during their terms. When the World Wars were over and peace could seemingly last, we went and fucked it up. Us! The people who became obligated as peace-keepers. The people who created the League of Nations and the United Nations! Us! The people who freed the Jews and liberated Germany from Nazi rule! Us!

Reagan had a cold war, and when it wasn't that intriguing or profitable, we stuck our noses in South America, Central America, Iran, Iraq. Nixon was dying to get into office against Kennedy so he could rape Southeast Asia. Ford was an idiot as was Bush Bush and Ron.

But back to now and soon... this election is the most important decision in world history. Democracy. Reality.

Americans have the opportunity to not only prove to themselves that they can make intelligent decisions, but prove to the world they can make good decisions. A global test, perhaps.

What! Look, he said it!

From what I've heard, George Bush never left the United States until his forties, at least. Dick Cheney lived in Wyoming. What the fuck do they know about other countries and how craven and grotesque for them to be so arrogant and disregarding. From Kyoto to Versailles; from Reykjavik to Geneva; from Camp David to the Moon. We plant flags and concoct treatises. We create and bear, peace not arms, build not destruct. We vote.

Last night when I was watching Fox News report on the missing explosives, they were so small cock-sure when informing their viewers that these weapons were moved by the Russians to Syria, gone before we moved in, or never there to begin with. They were reporting it as if it was already disregarded as a political trick being trumped up by the liberal media.

When this was going on I get this sick feeling in my stomach that this was the October Surprise. Bush (not him directly, he's not this smart or coy) got someone to give false information to a NY Times writer because they knew Kerry would jump at the bite, licking his chops and practically tripping over his own feet to get there. It would come out, similar to the CBS things, that this was such a lame attempt at trickery that the perpetrator would largely be seen as a ridiculous maniac who enjoys making things up.

The Bush team had only six days to come up with something good and they failed miserably. Fortunately, this mishap may cause them the election. This wasn't their October Surprise. It was God's. It was irony's surprise, and vengeance... sweet sweet irony.

Rudy goes out on the this mornings Today Show and blames the troops.

The actual responsibility for it really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough? Didn't they search carefully enough?

Bush said this yesterday (and it's beautiful icing):

"A political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as commander-in-chief."

Iraq did not have WMD. Osama Bin Laden was not wanted dead or alive, a major concern, the gravest threat, or ? wait... Abu Ghraib. Donald Rumsfeld. The Hussein Sons.
Lindsey Englund. Tommy Franks. Shinseki. Duellfer. man, I'm getting drunk
