Tepid Sense of an Intrepid Destiny

Get over it already Dave. jeeze, seriously.

I feel that I have to apologize to all my friends and family and readers, in the US and abroad... but mostly abroad. The rest of the world must have that strange feeling that the people here in the US support Bush's foreign policy of 'bomb everyone now, ask questions later, then hide the answers.' This is not true. Admittedly, many or most of the voters did not take foreign policy, domestic policy, economics, the fucking environment, or morality into account, they just voted 'moral values.' wait a minute... this is the President that employs the philosophy of preemption as the only option.

In a country that is seemingly safe now, albeit less safe than it was prior to the Iraq war, fear was the paramount tool used by an immoral administration. Fear was the prop they used to force the subject, force the American people to constantly consider picking up the dead bodies of their children from the local mall, from the elementary school, from the cities they lived hundreds of miles from.

The only places that have been targets or even attacked are in blue states... yet the people that spoke for the country are the ones that haven't even been to the city, haven't ever seen a skyscraper much less a coastline.

I apologize to that old Swedish guy who yelled at me in June of 2001 in Stockholm about Bush backing out of the Kyoto treaty. I told him then that we, the people, did not vote for him and that he doesn't speak for all of us. I apologize that it seems this is not the case anymore.

I apologize that this administration will move our country back fifty years to pursue an environmental policy that is not environmental at all. We can say goodbye to healthy forests and clean air and clean water... which is the name of all the initiatives. fuck it... I'm not talking about politics for a week, at least.

I'm heading to the beach again, for the weekend. Hopefully I'll get some laundry done, some drinking in, and have fun again.

I'm gonna get the camera back in my hand and take some photos more. My job is moving to Jersey City, and I won't be able to take any more candid shots of Seventh Ave and Broadway as I leave work. It sucks, but whatever.
